Nicaragua and STN in the News
Nicaragua and STN continue to see more press! Read about the incredible announcement of the FIRST baseball academy in Central America being built right in our backyard and the vicious drought ravaging parts of Nicaragua's northern agricultural regions. Also see online versions of the February 2010 Surfing Magazine cover featuring Hemmies (mentioned in our January newsletter), an article about safety in Nicaragua, and the June '09 article about surfing and tourism in Nicaragua.

New STN Service Crew, 2010

Surf Tours Nicaragua is proud to introduce our new staff for 2010.

Chef Andy (aka Country) is a farm boy first and University-trained Chef second. He joins us from South Carolina and hopes to get a better understanding of Latin cuisine, culture and language throughout his tenure with STN...not to mention pull off a frontside air 360 on a longboard...Good luck, buddy! Outside the kitchen, where he whips up some of the finest meals in all of Nicaragua, Andy has a keen green thumb and is working hard to create a nursery that will provide fruits and veggies for the Surf Camp and the local community.

Jake Miller (aka Tiny), is a Central Florida native. He came to us after joining the Darkside of the Force in Santa Theresa, Costa Rica, but has found his home here in Nicaragua and couldn't be happier about it. Jake hopes to refine his Spanish skills, learn a few new trades and generally live life to the fullest during his time with Surf Tours Nicaragua. Famous for breaking fins when he's hittin' the lip, don't let Tiny's size fool you about this longtime surfer's skills...he RIPS!

NEW STN OPERATING FACILITY ~La Flor Surf Camp~

After three years of operations in Playa Hermosa, Surf Tours Nicaragua made the BIG move to greener pastures. La Flor Surf Camp, located just down from Miramar, has incredible access to ample surf right out front and within walking distance. The Camp sits at the back of a protected bay with incredible views and beautiful beaches. It combines beautiful architecture with five air conditioned suites, beach side pool with ample patios and ranchos for dining, open-air kitchen, and a perfect spot for Surf Tours Nicaragua Uno, our fully-outfitted custom surf & sport fishing panga. Check it out our Accommodations page for more pictures and information.

NEW JEFA IN TOWN!

You didn't think we could take on all this extra work without more help, did you?

Theresa Stroumbos joins us from sunny (or is it snowy?) Denver, Colorado to focus on the management of the Nicaragua Eco Hotel and Destino Yoga Nicaragua. A marathon running "video game geek", she will be trading mountains for the ocean and skiing for surfing. Bringing a wealth of knowledge in business, website design, yoga and a little Y chromosome she should round out our management team of two nicely...and I best not forget to mention that she is the love of my life!

And, as you can see from the photos, Theresa will be reuniting STN with it's beloved mascot McKenzie, who has been enjoying a well deserved break from the heat of Nicaragua.
